News: Lady Gaga Wants To Be A Grandmother

Lady Gaga's former DJ Brendan Sullivan recently told Esquire that Lady G wants to be the main person in the world of pop music. Sullivan claims that the controversial singer wants to nurture and bring up new artists and bands, as a grandmother might her grandchildren.

According to Sullivan, Gaga once claimed: "There is a musical government, who decides what we all get to hear and listen to. And I want to be one of those people. She didn't make that statement in an interview or from the stage. She made it in 2007, when she was a go-go dancer sewing her own outfits and I was her DJ. She wrote it in one of my notebooks."

He added: "I'll quote something she said to me one day around that time as directly as I can. ‘No-one in the world knows who I am, but they are going to want to know who I am. My first time ever on TV I want to be on a huge show where I play one song. I'm going to come out on stage in my underwear and show the world that here I am and I don't give a ffff**k what anyone thinks of me. Once she told me that she wanted to be the 'grandmother of pop music', bringing up new bands, nurturing their talents, watching them grow."

News: Lady Gaga Plastic Surgery Denial

Lady Gaga has denied the recent reports that she is considering having some cosmetic procedures to change her look. The story had stated that Lady Gaga had been depressed and was considering plastic surgery as a way to lift her mood. It was said that she would be looking into plastic surgery for multiple different areas of the body.

A rep for Lady Gaga has “categorically denied” the previous reports that the singer was considering these procedures. The tabloids claimed that Lady Gaga was considering a nose job and breast implants.

Lady Gaga first came into the public view in 2008 when she released her first single and subsequent album, “The Fame.” Since then, Gaga has had a long list of different hits that has kept the rising star near the top of the Billboard charts throughout her short career. She is currently on her Monster’s Ball tour that will run from the beginning of July through the end of September. The tour is said to be more like a Broadway musical than a concert, featuring a plot, characters, and a storyline that will incorporate many of Gaga’s hit songs from her most recent album, The Fame Monster, as well as her original album, The Fame.

Her most recent single, “Telephone” featuring Beyonce, has been a huge success and reached number one on the Billboard charts shortly after its release.

News: Chinese web surfers go gaga for English buzz phrases

She captured the music world’s attention with her infectious songs and bizarre stage performances. Now Lady Gaga has won over a powerful new audience: China’s internet-savvy youth.

Ever on the lookout for new, and sometimes subversive, ways to express themselves online, young Chinese men and women have adopted the mantra “Oh My Lady Gaga!” as a replacement for “Oh My God!”.

“Sandy Beijing – Oh My Lady Gaga!” was the title used by one young surfer as his title for a series of photographs of Beijing in a fog of orange sand during one of the worst duststorms of the spring. Another man, nervous about meeting his girlfriend’s parents, wrote in his blog: “Oh My Lady Gaga. I’m already so nervous about meeting your parents maybe I will faint.” The expression is also popular in text messaging and in chatrooms, where peppering conversations with English slang or acronyms is the epitome of cool.

The trend is causing anxiety, however, among those in charge of monitoring and maintaining the integrity of Mandarin. “If we don’t pay attention and don’t take measures to stop mixing Chinese with English, the Chinese language won’t remain pure in a couple of years,” Huang Youyi, editor-in-chief of the China International Publishing Group, said.

Such concerns have spread to the state broadcaster, China Central Television. Authorities are said to have been issued orders banning English acronyms from broadcasts — meaning that popular abbreviations as NBA, for the US National Basketball Association, must now be pronounced in Chinese and in full. In the case of the NBA — closely followed in China because of Yao Ming, the Chinese player — that will require a ten-syllable phrase.

For the moment, Oh My Lady Gaga! is safe — at least until it is unseated by the next fashionable English phrase.

News: Grace Jones hits out at Lady Gaga‎

Pop icon Grace Jones has sparked a row with Lady Gaga after accusing the Poker Face singer of copying her legendary style.

Jones claims to have snubbed the chance to collaborate with the chart-topping star because she lacks originality.

"I'd just prefer to work with someone who is more original and someone who is not copying me, actually," the 61-year-old ex-supermodel told The UK's Guardian newspaper.

"I've seen some things she's worn that I've worn, and that does kind of p*** me off... I wouldn't go to see her."

"I really don't think of her at all. I go about my business. I just don't play with other acts as a rule," Jones added.

Despite the snub, Lady Gaga admits to being inspired by Jones and has even described the former Bond girl as “Jesus.”

News: Lady Gaga tells her 'Little Monsters' she gives out free condoms at her shows, but preaches celibacy

Her songs may be oozing with sex, but that doesn't mean Lady Gaga is promoting it to her "Little Monsters."

The 24-year-old avant-garde - and often pantsless - pop singer has gone on record to stress holding off on having sex.

"Something I do want to celebrate with my fans is that it's okay to be whomever it is that you want to be," Lady Gaga said in an interview with London's Daily Mail. "You don't have to have sex to feel good about yourself, and if you're not ready, don't do it."

And, if you're lucky enough to score a ticket to one of her concerts, the "Bad Romance" singer says you'll get a free reminder of her personal message of celibacy.

"If you are ready, there are free condoms given away at my concerts when you're leaving," she said.

The "Bad Romance" singer is preaching a women's right to choose to have sex as the newest face of MAC's AIDS awareness Viva Glam campaign, along with pop icon Cyndi Lauper.

"I'm single right now and I've chosen to be single because I don't have the time to get to know anybody," Lady Gaga said. "So it's okay not to have sex, it's okay to get to know people. I’m celibate, celibacy's fine."

Quote

For some people, fame kills it and becomes more important than the music or the performance. But for me fame is like rocket fuel. The more my fans like what I’m doing, the more I want to give back to them. And my passion is so strong I can’t sleep – I haven’t slept for three days.
- Lady Gaga

News: Lady Gaga is celibate: 'Don't have sex'

She's certainly changed her tune since making statements like: "I just sleep with the guys in the band because it’s easier."

Lady Gaga hasn't been in a relationship for over a year — she says she's chosen to be celibate now that she's single, and she encourages other singles to do the same.

Speaking out for a new campaign to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS, the pop diva's message to fans via the UK's Mail On Sunday is, "I can't believe I'm saying this — don't have sex."

"I'm single right now and I've chosen to be single because I don't have the time to get to know anybody. So it's OK not to have sex, it's OK to get to know people. I'm celibate, celibacy's fine."

Gaga goes on to explain that when she was at school all the 'cool' girls were rushing to have sex.

"It's not really cool any more to have sex all the time," she says. "It's cooler to be strong and independent."

"You don't have to have sex to feel good about yourself, and if you’re not ready, don't do it."

"And if you are ready," she adds, "there are free condoms given away at my concerts when you're leaving!"

News: Lady Gaga Defends Students Wearing a Gaga-Themed Shirt

This one looks like it's headed straight for the Supreme Court, since it sounds like one helluva of First Amendment violation. A Tennessee teen was sent home from Greenbrier High School to change his shirt, which sported the phrase, "I Heart Lady Gay Gay." The school's brass felt the shirt would cause a disruption among other students with its supposedly inflammatory statement.

The student, Cole Goforth, was asked to go forth and make a tee change and the teen's mom claimed that the school was in violation of the First Amendment with its request. When word of the incident made it back to Gaga, she tweeted: "Thank u for wearing your tee-shirt proud at school, you make me so proud, at the monsterball, you are an inspiration to us all. I love you." She also tweeted, "Been in the studio for days and hours of record after record, and when I hear that a little monster was discriminated against by teachers…It reminds me of my commitment + love for u, and the deep unconditional devotion I feel to write music that will deliberate you from prejudice." She also wrote, "I love you Cole, you just be yourself. You’re perfect the way God made you."

Looks like wearing a t-shirt can get you a direct message from the reigning queen of pop music. If I were you, I'd wear as many incensing t-shirts as possible so that it could be a conduit with which you can communicate with your favorite musician!

News: Lady Gaga Mimics M.I.A.?

Is Lady Gaga mimicking rapper M.I.A? If you let M.I.A tell it she is.

The rapper sat down with NME magazine where she dissed “the obscene amount of product placement in the 'Telephone' video, Gaga’s style and music.”

"Lady Gaga- people say that we’re similar, that we both mix all these things in the pot and spit them out differently, but she spits it out exactly the same! None of her music’s reflective of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is," M.I.A told the magazine.

And it didn’t stop there. "She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic. She sounds more like me that I do," M.I.A said.

Interestingly enough, Lady Gaga and M.I.A are on the same Interscope label. M.I.A has a new album due out in June. Is this beef just to cook up some press to drum up sales?

News: Lady Gaga hates casually dressed celebrities

'Telephone' singer Lady Gaga famed for her eccentric fashion sense - believes stars should make an effort when they appear at red carpet events as she thinks it's something the fans deserve.

She said: "I think you should look nice all the time. When I meet celebrities and they're in casual clothes, I'm always like, 'Whaaat?' I don't mean to be judgmental, but it would do them better to be who they really are, all the time. When I get out of a car and there are 30 fans waiting for me, I know I'm dressed the way I should be. There's a reason they have that emotional reaction."

The 24-year-old star also admitted her image is highly sexed but denied rumours she buys her clothes from sex stores.

She told Britain's OK! magazine: "Everybody loves sex. I would love to be introduced to one person on the planet that does not love sex.
"I don't buy my clothes from sex shops. I just recently have had a love affair with S+M clothing and masks as I love the idea of telling stories with no face. I believe in some things very strongly and that is the power of showbiz."

News: Janet Jackson On Lady Gaga

Janet Jackson has been speaking out lately on her worry for Lady Gaga. Janet has been really motivated toward calling out Lady Gaga on her health condition. It seems that people are really scared for her health and are concerned that Gaga might not be doing so well. She’s been on an international tour and hasn’t seen a day off in quite some time now but could conditions really be affecting her overall health?

Well Janet Jackson surely thinks so and she’s whiling to rush out into the public in order to get the matter recognized so that her health condition can be addressed. A recent interview with Janet revealed that she and Gaga are good friends and that she really enjoys her personality, being around her, and having the opportunity to work with her. Janet said to reporters that “She’s a sweetheart, which I was very happy, very pleased to see, because it’s not always the case when you meet people. You can enjoy their work but it’s not always pleasant when you get to know their personality and she truly is a sweetheart and a very hard worker.”

Gaga seems to be emotionally and physically stable despite Janet’s concern. She has been Twittering daily about her new upcoming album and people have been listening. Janet just feels she has been overworking herself lately and she’s worried and thinks she should settle down a little. I think it’s all up to Gaga however, but I do feel that Janet has a point. There is no sense to overworking yourself which is just going to put a strain on her album right?
