News: Gaga sets Digital Downloads Record


Lady Gaga’s The Fame this week becomes the best-selling album in the U.S. digital history! With digital sales of over copies 783,000 it surpasses the previous record holder, Coldplay’s Viva La Vida.

The Fame has sold over 3,539,000 copies (digital and physical) in the United States to date. This number includes sales of the deluxe edition of The Fame Monster, but doesn’t count the 8-track EP with additional sales of over 1,170,000 copies.

The tracks on The Fame have sold 24,645,000 digital copies combined, which is an all-time record. The closest runners-up are the Black Eyed Peas’ The E.N.D. with 17,878,000 digital downloads and Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad with 17,041,000.
