News: Gaga loves herself some wigs

Lady Gaga really is a pop big-wig... she owns nearly 30 hairpieces of every shape and colour.
And the singer voted the most influential artist of 2010 admits she changes her rug to suit her mood.

Gaga revealed: "I have more than 20 wigs. That way, I can have a new hairstyle every day without having to run to the hairdresser, which is great, isn't it?

"And I can choose which one I want to wear depending on my mood."

Gaga's huge collection of hair gives other rug-wearing celebrities, such as Dolly Parton and Joan Collins, a run for their money.

The Bad Romance singer, whose replica wigs sell thousands online, said: "Today I felt like red curls.

"The way I present myself to the outside world always reflects how I feel inside.
"My red curly wig is wild and a little confused. I think I'm also just a bit confused and messy."
The 24-year-old is never seen without an outlandish outfit.

Her shocking get-ups have ranged from black leotards and pink PVC skirts to the amazing angel dress she wore at the Brits, complete with hair piled high.

She took a pledge earlier this year to never be seen in a normal outfit, telling chat show host Jonathan Ross: "I would rather die than have my fans not see me in a pair of high heels.

"I would never give up my wigs and hats for anything."

Gaga, who topped US magazine Time's annual 100 movers and shakers list, admits her schedule is so busy she doesn't have time to get her clothes herself.

The New Yorker says she hasn't been shopping in more than a year.

Her amazing clothes are obtained by her assistants, whom she calls Gaga fairies.

She said: "Everywhere I go, a Gaga fairy has already been there before me and left a cupboard full of wonderful clothes that I'm allowed to borrow and wear.

"When I move to the next city, the next cupboard is waiting for me."

Despite her ever-changing look and wardrobe, Gaga, who has revealed her favourite song from her album is new single Alejandro, insists her life is not all plain sailing.

In fact, she insists that glamour doesn't equal luxury.

She said: "A glamorous life is quite different to a life of luxury. I don't need luxury.

"For years, I was practically broke but I was still very vain and glamorous.

"And I still am."
